Monte Sano is a jewel of a park tucked away atop a mountain just 8 minutes from downtown Huntsville.
extremely quiet because the park is located on the east side of the mountain and Huntsville is on the
west side.

Trails reveal gorgeous views of the Tennessee River Valley and diverse wildlife, including numerous
migratory songbirds. A stretch of parkway now closed to vehicles offers scenic touring for the
wheelchair-bound and others.

There is primitive camping at Monte Sano and 89 developed campsites.  Fourteen rustic cottages near a
cliff overlook the valley.

these sites are also the quietest.  It has a gravel road  so RV's do not venture back into this area.  But
also understand, this is the area Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts like to stay.  So look around before
selecting a site.

There is a nice little store on the park offering most basic camping needs such as ice, water, and picnic
items.  A coin laundry is located on the backside of the store.  The campground host usually
has firewood for sale.

The bathhouse has showers.
